We’re delighted to have been asked to brew an exclusive, brand new beer for the JD Wetherspoon Ale Festival, which runs from October 24th to November 11th. With brewers flying in from Australia, North America and Japan to take part in the festivities, there promises to be a range of unique and interesting beers on offer.

Franklin, a 4.3% pale ale brewed using a mixture of Cascade and Chinook hops, is nod to Rooster’s founding brewer, Sean Franklin, who pioneered the use of such hops in the UK and developed a reputation for brewing well balanced, aromatic, session strength pale ales of exceptional quality. We hope to have done him justice and plan to brew Franklin for our free trade customers at a later date.

A full list of the festival beers (and ciders), along with all the tasting notes, can be found here.
