West Coast Amber Ale (Alc. 4.2% Vol.)

Made famous by the breweries of San Francisco and often referred to as a Steam Beer, California Common is a West Coast amber ale fermented with a lager yeast. Caramel maltiness harmonises with fruity hop characteristics to create a medium level of bitterness and a smooth finish.

An extra pale, hazy Mountain IPA that delivers the fleshy tropical, stone fruit juiciness of a NEIPA, thanks to a blend of El Dorado, Ekuanot and Amarillo hops, with a touch of balanced West Coast bitterness on the finish.

Vintage Stock Ale (Alc. 5.3% Vol.)

A vintage stock ale brewed with Goldings hops and Muscovado sugar, before being fermented and conditioned on oak staves from a barrel previously used to age a batch of Hello, Dimitri?, our bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout. Tawny in colour, Throwback offers up fruity notes along with a balanced level of sweetness and a moderate bitterness on the finish.

Impractical Ideas

Hazy Summer Ale (Alc. 4.7% Vol.)

A hazy summer pale brewed with our friends from Fyne Ales. A blend of Cascade and Motueka hops were added in two less common steps of the brewing process; the mash and in the FV prior to fermentation in a process known as ‘dip hopping’. Berry fruit and floral notes, with a hint of spice lead to a refreshingly crisp finish.

A kettle sour fermented with a saison yeast and aged in French oak barrels for fifteen months. Expect a tart beer with subtle, fruity wine characteristics and a hint of spice; flavours that are likely to evolve over time as the beer continues to mature.

English Pale Ale (Alc. 4.3% Vol.)

Fresh Hop is an English Pale Ale that lives up to its name. Displaying delicate pine and floral aromas, Fresh Hop [2024] is brewed with 100% Goldings hops from Church House Farm in Herefordshire, harvested and collected by Rooster’s Head Brewer on the morning of the brew day (September 6th), before being added to the boil 200 miles and six hours later.

A sessionable and moreish amber ale displaying floral, earthy, spicy and pine notes. Sweet, rich, malty flavours are balanced with a low level of hop bitterness and a touch of sweetness on the finish.
