ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Brewery Assistant, you'll support every stage of the brewing and packaging process, helping to produce the high-quality beers that Rooster's is known for.
Working alongside our experienced brewers and production team, you'll be involved in brewing, cellar work, packaging, cleaning, warehouse duties and general brewery operations. No two weeks are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, varied work and wants to learn new skills.
This is a hands-on, physically demanding role involving manual handling, lifting and moving kegs and casks, cleaning equipment, operating machinery and spending much of the day on your feet. A positive attitude, willingness to learn and strong work ethic are far more important than previous brewing experience.
Full training will be provided.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To assist the Head Brewer and Production Manager in the brewing, packaging, and cleaning process, plus any other duties as required.
DETAILED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Wash dirty casks & kegs

Fill casks, ensuring correct and accurate quantities of finings used

Fill kegs to correct volume and pressure

Clean vessels (CIP FVs, DPVs, BBTs)

Clean packaging equipment

Carry out any duties as requested on brew days to facilitate an efficient, safe and clean brewing process

Transfer beer vessel to vessel, post fermentation

Carry out any process requirements during conditioning (e.g. dry-hopping, adding finings) where required

Work on the Canning line as required to help with the packaging of cans

Stack and wrap pallets to fulfil customer orders when requested

Assist drivers with van loading when requested

Operate the forklift truck safely when fully trained to do so

Carry out maintenance work when requested

Strictly adhere to process procedures and cleaning regimes whilst maintaining a clean and sanitary brewing environment, adhering to all food safety regulations

Always follow strict Health and Safety and COSHH guidelines
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Technical Knowledge:
An understanding of the production of beer is desirable but not essential. In house training will be given
Quality Assurance: Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality standards
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues and help find solutions quickly
Communication Skills: Effective communication with other departments, including sales, marketing, and management
