We’re hosting our first ever invitational beer festival on Saturday July 1st!
Suds With Buds is an event we’ve been wanting to put on for several years, but one thing or another has stopped initial ideas from becoming reality... until now! On the back of Rooster’s celebrating our 30th Anniversary in 2023, we’re biting the bullet and making it happen.
What’s an invitational beer festival, you may ask? Well, we’ve invited some of our closest brewing pals, who also happen to be very good at what they do to join us in Harrogate to pour their beers, share their passion and the stories of who they are and what they brew.
Some of the UK’s most respected and talked about breweries will be descending upon our little corner of the world, as well a handful travelling from much further afield, creating a truly unique, combined line-up of over 100 beers. We’ll be sharing details of who’ll be joining via our social media feeds, so make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and / or Instagram.
The event will run from 2pm – 8pm and will span the brewery and yard, Taproom, Beer Garden and The Sample Room upstairs. It’ll be a ticket-only event, with the Taproom being closed to non-festival goers for the day.
On top of the beers, we’ll also have four street food traders serving up some of the tastiest food the North has to offer, across an eclectic mix of styles and dietary requirements. We’ll announce who each of the traders are in the run up to the event.
We’ll be building a live music stage in the beer garden and are currently curating what will be an incredible line-up of talent, both local to Harrogate and from further afield too - ideal for pairing with some fantastic beers with your buds.
Ordinarily, we love having dogs join us at the Taproom, but we’re sorry to say Suds With Buds won’t be a dog-friendly event. With the brewery being opened up for bars and seating, coupled with the layout of the space dictating that everyone at some point will need to pass through what is a essentially a food production facility, we’re unable to allow our four-legged friends to attend. With hundreds of people expected, it could also prove to be a worrying environment for certain dogs to find themselves in.
Similarly, as much as we’ve tried to make the event a family friendly one, for a variety of reasons, Suds With Buds is an over 18’s only festival. Sorry for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause. Hopefully there’s enough time from tickets going on sale to the event taking place for any necessary childcare arrangements to be made if you’re reading this and don’t want to miss out.
Speaking of tickets, the event has been budgeted to break even, with a variety of costs needing to be covered in order to pull the event off. The full price for a ticket is £25 and they’ll be available to buy via the www.roosters.co.uk from March 1st.
Early Bird tickets will be available at a discounted price of £20 and will be available until that allocation sells out. Pricing will then increase to £22.50 as part of a ‘Not So Early Bird’ offer. Once that allocation has sold through, the full price (£25) will apply.
The price of the ticket will include a souvenir Suds With Buds glass, as well as an event programme that will include the full beer menu and where to find the various brewery bars on the day. The price of the tickets will also cover all of the associated costs of putting on the event, including staffing, equipment, the provision of a wellness area (see: The Coven), security, the musicians and additional event toilets, among lots of other essential elements.
We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to Suds With Buds and are working hard to make it the best event possible, while also ensuring we offer a safe space for everyone involved. As such, we’ve created a Code of Conduct for everyone attending to adhere to. Please tap the button below to read it:
We’ll update this blog and share more details via our social media feeds as plans develop and hope you’re excited as we are for what promises to be a hugely unique event and one that’ll be the first of its kind to take place in Harrogate too.
